Flowers and Smoke

 

Materials: procreate, prisma colors, markers, cardstock, cardboard, paint, tissue paper, copper paper, metal wire

Processes: drew and printed from digital art, cut out and colored, taped together, made set, added to set with wire, set up light and take pic

Ideas: fire in house in NH, brother and I were playing with leaves outside while mom was struggling to put it out, as children we didn’t understand the weight of the situation

  1. ZOE!! I'm blown away!! You experimented with new materials and making it a diorama that glows (processes and ideas) is genius! Remember to play with the contrast so we can see the complementary color of blue that you talked about, right now its a silhouette.
    I am sorry to keep harping on the 2 pupils but I would really go through all of your pieces and make the second pupil/iris a tad darker. Its disconcerting and confusing to only see one eye when that one eye is so very stylized. Its a great style but we can't appreciate it like we should. For instance this image small reads like her eyes are closed (which I love) and there is a dark spot on her forehead. The raters will go fast so help them out by showing two eyes even slightly, is my suggestion. I won't count off if you feel strongly about it but I think it will really help.
